The Body is the servant of the mind

The BODY is the servant of the mind.  It obeys the operations of the mind, whether deliberately chosen or automatically expressed.  There are people 95 years old who have a bright smile and innocent face like a child, there are people well under middle age whose face is a frown and energy is a grouch.  With those who have lived righteously, age is calm, peaceful, and softly mellowed, like the setting sun.  Beautiful Thoughts for a Beautiful BODY.

As a man thinketh, allen

“Take care of your body.  It’s the only place you have to live. ”

Pay attention to the path, not just the end result

I have to remind myself of this constantly.  Everything that happens, happens.  When we have a bad day, or things don’t go our way,  our first inclination is to cling to our frustration.  Frustration can hinder our progress.  Things will not always go your way, but we can control how we handle these situations.  If we pay attention to what is happening on our path, the good and the bad, we can seek to learn something from any situation.  This gives us ultimate control.  And once we control our reaction to situations, we invite positive results for our future.  I know life can be overwhelming and unfair and can exhaust you at times.  And bad days just can’t end soon enough.  But remember to pay attention to the path.   Remember to great every situation with open arms.  The more we except and adapt , instead of fight life, things will begin to work out in our favor.  The important thing is to control your emotions and reactions…. we can learn something from everything that happens to us, and that is what will make us great.

Read!

There are going to be many reoccurring lessons at Traveling Minds.  But this might be the most.  READ!

It is incredible.  In a world full of unlimited knowledge, only 3% of humans have a library card.  We have access to years and years of knowledge. Yet,

we don’t even take advantage of it!   On the internet, we have a link of culture, civilization, and knowledge.  Yet, Yahoo, Facebook, and gossip columns take up many peoples daily habits.  What we feed our mind we become.  It is important to step back and realize what you feed your brain with.  Is it gossip?  Facebook status’s and popularity attempts?  Trashy TV? Becoming aware of what you feed your mind can help you steer your life in a direction very few of us know exists.  Reading can help you.  Read books that interest you, read books about your passion…. don’t know your passion, read books on how to find your passion.  There are unlimited sources of knowledge to help us grow in positive directions.  Reading and acquiring knowledge is the first step in becoming fulfilled.  How can you ever become bored with a wealth of knowledge available for your entire life?

“To read is to fly: it is to soar to a point of vantage which gives a view over wide terrains of history, human variety, ideas, shared experience and the fruits of many inquiries.”

Positive is how we live

Life can move in many different directions, and the choices you make can lead to vary different results.

It is important when understanding vision, and putting that vision to reality. Our thoughts ultimately portray our reality.

Not only does this make sense philosophically, it makes entire sense scientifically. For our minds are merely interpreting

our surroundings.

The power of positive thought is the most immense power we can tap into. Often in life we are surrounded by a different

mood on a daily basis. It is important if you get scared, anxious, negative, stressed….. that you turn the corner

imeediately. Do not get sucked into energy that is not constructive to your happiness. When you feel close to perfect,

in tune, happy, trustworthy in life or faith, continue to follow this energy. Don’t treat this awareness as a path, treat

it like a ray of light, a wave of water…. something that flows and is indestructible, resilient, and can be firm at the same time like bamboo.

When we learn to ride these waves of positive emotions, we learn to ride the waves of positive situations and events.

I hope we all can be blessed and flow on a path where challenges are greeted with smiles, and protection is granted

through thought. The world will become beautiful with us.

Life will pay whatever price you ask it

We must conditioning our body and mind to be their best.  We have unlimited potential, and our outcome becomes our standards.  We must ask the right questions.  But you have to ask intelligently.

Learn to ask SPECIFICALY

Learn to ask with CLARITY

Know desired RESULTS, visualize it)

Know Why you are asking, have REASONS for asking

Have an ACTION plan, make sure you have plan a,b, and c.

We can mold our potential to be anything we dream.  But we must dream in a specific clear way.  If you are having trouble clarifying what it is you want, don’t obsess about it…. Feed your mind, learn, grow… and your vision will come at the right time.  Life will pay whatever price you ask it.  You just have to ask it in the right ways.

Pay attention to how you sleep

We spend almost 1/3 of our lives sleeping…. so being aware of your sleep patterns is vital to your well being.

First things first, develop good habits before you go to bed, and when you wake up….. Read a book, don’t eat close to sleeping, brush your teeth, and have some reflection time before you sleep…. if you just watch tv than go to sleep, it can lead to a stressful rest.

It is important to pay attention to what you are sleeping on… get good sheets, pillowcases (definately if you break out), and have a good matress.

MAKE SURE YOU GET ENOUGH REST

And pay attention to HOW you sleep… here are the best sleeping positions for your health

1. on your back, with your head and kneck propped up by a pillow

2. on your side, with a pillow between your legs

the worst

On your stomach….

if you are pregnant, have kidney stones, high blood pressure…. search for the healthiest sleep position..

but the main point… BECOME AWARE OF HOW YOU SPEND 1/3 OF YOUR LIFE!

Affirm You Always Have More Than Enough

Reminding yourself you have everything you need is vital to success.  All you need to do is focus on what you control, and positive thinking is everything you need.  So you always have more than enough.  Don’t focus on the money you don’t have, or the bad luck you have, focus on what you do have!  This is the basis to the law of attraction.  What you focus on multiplies, so choose your train of thought wisely.   Tony Robbins transformed his life and many others on this one quote “happiness and success in life are not the result of what we have, but rather of how we live. What we do with the things we have makes the biggest difference in the quality of life.”  Control the things you can control, control the way you view your current situation.  By finding the positive in NOW, you’re future will be forever changed for the better.

Field Trip: Santorini, Greece

Location : Santorini, Greece

Description :

Santorini (Greek: Σαντορίνη, pronounced [sadoˈrini]), officially Thira (Greek: Θήρα [ˈθira]), is an island located in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast from Greece‘s mainland. It is the largest island of a small, circular archipelago which bears the same name and is the remnant of a volcanic caldera. It forms the southernmost member of the Cyclades group of islands, with an area of approximately 73 km2 (28 sq mi) and a 2001 census population of 13,670. The municipality of Santorini comprises the inhabited islands of Santorini and Therasia and the uninhabited islands of Nea Kameni, Palaia Kameni, Aspronisi, and Christiana. The total land area is 90.623 km2 (34.990 sq mi). Santorini is part of the Santorini peripheral unit.[1]

Santorini is essentially what remains after an enormous volcanic explosion that destroyed the earliest settlements, on a formerly single island, and created the current geological caldera. A giant central, rectangular lagoon, which measures about 12 by 7 km (7.5 by 4.3 mi), is surrounded by 300 m (980 ft) high, steep cliffs on three sides. The main island slopes downward to the Aegean Sea. On the fourth side, the lagoon is separated from the sea by another much smaller island called Therasia; the lagoon is connected to the sea in two places, in the northwest and southwest. The water in the center of the lagoon is nearly 400 m (1,300 ft) deep, thus making it a safe harbor for all kinds of shipping. The island’s harbors all lie in the lagoon, and there are no ports on the perimeter of the island; the capital, Fira, clings to the top of the cliff looking down on the lagoon. The volcanic rocks present from the prior eruptions feature olivine and have a notably small presence of hornblende.[2]

It is the most active volcanic center in the South Aegean Volcanic Arc, though what remains today is chiefly a water-filled caldera. The volcanic arc is approximately 500 km (310 mi) long and 20 to 40 km (12 to 25 mi) wide. The region first became volcanically active around 3–4 million years ago, though volcanism on Thera began around 2 million years ago with the extrusion of dacitic lavas from vents around the Akrotiri.

The island is the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history: the Minoan eruption (sometimes called the Thera eruption), which occurred some 3600 years ago at the height of the Minoan civilization. The eruption left a large caldera surrounded by volcanic ash deposits hundreds of feet deep and may have led indirectly to the collapse of the Minoan civilization on the island of Crete, 110 km (68 mi) to the south, through a gigantic tsunami. This theory is not, however, supported by chronology, in that the collapse of the Minoan civilization did not occur at the date of the tsunami, but some 90 years later.[citation needed] Another popular theory holds that the Thera eruption is the source of the legend of Atlantis.[3]

Things to know :  Santorini is beautiful, affordable, and lots to offer a person of any age.
